We wanted to give you a quick heads-up on something we’re seeing more of.
Scam emails are on the rise, and they’re getting harder to spot.
Scammers can make an email look like it’s coming from your spouse, family member, friend, colleague, or even us. They can use the correct name and signature, sometimes even the right tone.
The goal is usually the same: to get you to wire money or move funds quickly, often with urgency.
Here’s one thing to remember: we will never ask you to wire or transfer funds over email.
If you ever receive a message like that (even if it looks like it’s from us), don’t click, reply, or send anything. Please pick up the phone and call our office directly using a number you already have on file, not one from the email itself.
A few other things to watch for:
- Requests that feel urgent or pressure you to act fast
- Slightly altered email addresses (an extra letter, a swapped domain)
- Any change to wiring instructions, even from a “verified” source
We take your security seriously, and staying a step ahead of this starts with a quick call whenever something feels off.
